Portolite is a company that specializes in manufacturing baseball pitching mounds known for their lightweight yet durable design. These mounds offer pitchers a realistic feel of a regulation baseball mound while also providing the advantage of easy mobility for field crews. Key features and benefits of Portolite pitching mounds include:
High-Performance Core: The pitching mounds are constructed with a resilient core that is protected by a high-performance poly material. This core is reinforced with fiberglass, resulting in a solid and cushioned mound that eliminates bounce and provides a realistic pitching experience.
Reduced Strain: The design of the mound aims to reduce strain on a pitcher's knees and ankles, thanks to its cushioned yet stable structure.
AstroTurf® Covering: The mounds are covered with the highest quality nylon AstroTurf®, available in colors like Clay or Green. This covering mimics the look and feel of real grass and contributes to the mound's realistic performance.
Simulated Pitching Rubbers: Portolite's pitching mounds come with simulated pitching rubbers that are designed to be highly durable. These rubbers are built to last ten times longer than industry standards. Additionally, a replaceable hidden "Wear Pad" is located underneath the turf right in front of the pitching rubber, ensuring longevity season after season.
Gentle Slopes and Tapered Edges: The mounds are designed with gentle slopes that aid in various aspects of pitching, such as pick-off attempts. The tapered edges contribute to a smooth transition from the mound to the field, eliminating any "lips" that could hinder gameplay.
Full-Length Game Mounds: Portolite offers pitching mounds in three sizes: 6", 8", and 10". This range of sizes caters to different age levels and ensures that there's an appropriate mound for various skill levels.
Portolite's emphasis on lightweight yet durable design, combined with features like hidden, replaceable wear pads, gentle slopes, and tapered edges, sets their pitching mounds apart in the market. These mounds aim to provide pitchers with a genuine experience while offering field crews the convenience of easy transportation.
