Portolite Portable Pitching Mounds

Portolite pitching mounds are built with fiberglass, a lightweight but very strong material. This construction allows the baseball mounds to be moved with minimal effort. Further, there are options for complete one-piece pitching mounds and more nimble two-piece mounds. Functionally the mounds are no different, but the two-piece mound is a more accessible size to store during the off season, is more economical to ship, and is easier to move. The portable pitching mounds also have built-in handles for convenience.

What's the Difference Between a Game Mound and a Practice Mound?

When Should I Use a Game Mound?

Purpose: Designed to replicate an on-field regulation pitching mound during live games or scrimmages.

Construction: Smooth, sloped edges that blend into the infield so players don’t trip or roll an ankle; turf and fiberglass materials match regulation height and slope.

Use: Ideal for youth baseball leagues, tournaments, and fields that host multiple age groups or sports but want a true “game-ready” mound. Reduce maintenance costs!

Regulation portable pitching mounds give pitchers the same feel as a permanent mound, but with the portability to move it from field-to-field and dramatically less maintenance time.

When Should I Use a Practice Mound?

Purpose: Built for indoor facilities, batting cages, and training sessions where space is tighter and portability is critical.

Construction: Sharper step-off edges so the mound fits easily inside narrow cages; lighter weight for moving between stations or from indoor to outdoor setups.

Use: Perfect for bullpen work, pitching drills, or offseason indoor batting cage training.

Portable practice pitching mounds let pitchers maintain proper mechanics and stride length year-round without needing a full field or permanent mound.

What Turf Colors Are Available?

Many of the portable pitching mounds are available in multiple color options to match field aesthetics. Choose from standard green, clay, and select color alternatives to best fit your team logo or training environment. The tough turf surface resists wear and tear even with repeat use, making these products ideal for programs that require long-term durability and high-performance surfaces.

How Do Pitching Mounds Ship, and What's the Warranty?

All pitching mounds ship on a pallet via truck-line freight to ensure safe, reliable delivery right to the facility. Every Portolite mound comes with a 10-year warranty, reflecting the durability and craftsmanship you can trust for long-term use. For added convenience, Portolite turf repair kits are available to maintain the highly impacted pitching rubber area, keeping the mounds in top condition season after season. Invest in portable baseball mounds that deliver consistent, professional-quality performance.
